Building Update

Posted by: Morgan Mitchell

Dear friends and family of GTHOP:

Blessings in the name of the Lord.

Two and a half years ago, the Holy Spirit gathered several people from all different walks of life to seek His face in a living room for the establishment of a house of prayer in the Grand Traverse region. As a result, we have seen and heard many testimonies of healing and salvation that have come out of those prayer meetings. What began in a living room one night a week has become 24 hours a week of intercession and worship unto the Lord.

As the Grand Traverse House of Prayer, we believe we are called to establish a prayer and worship center that exalts the name of Jesus 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In light of that, we started a fund-raising campaign 90 days ago in order to raise $300,000 to buy our own building and to enable this vision to become a reality. Much of the funds have been raised but we still have a ways to go.

We have at this time been given an incredible opportunity for a $50,000 matching donation. If we can raise $50,000 between now and September 24, 2011, the donations that we receive will be matched up to that amount. If everyone reading this post made a donation of just $100, we would be able to reach this goal.

Please take a few moments to ask the Lord what He would have you to give in this season to help establish a 24/7 house of prayer for the entire Grand Traverse region. Any amount that He would lead you to give will push us closer whether that be $10 or $10,000.

Donations can be made on our website at www.gthop.com/donate. We are also able to accept donations by check made out to GTHOP. However, as the deadline for this matching donation is September 24th, please respond to this e-mail if you would like to make a donation by check so that we can make certain it is allotted toward this goal. Please also feel free to contact us via e-mail if you have any questions about who we are or why it is that we feel so strongly about what the Lord has called us to do.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this and to ask the Lord how He would have you partner with us. We are excited to see how the Lord moves through this moment in our history.

Blessings and peace to you all in the name of Jesus,
Grand Traverse House of Prayer

Called to Reign as Heavenly Citizens

Posted by: Morgan Mitchell

God has put inside of every person-who believes solely in Jesus Christ for salvation-an authority to determine the destinies of nations and kingdoms.

SHARING THE THRONE(GOVERNMENT) WITH CHRIST

Every Jesus follower has a two fold citizenship.(Phil. 3:20)  An earthly citizenship and through the new birth, a heavenly citizenship.  As a citizen of heaven we are subject to heavenly laws.  At the same time he is to share in it’s authority. (Ps. 103:19)  Gods kingdom is supreme over all other kingdoms.  It has always been in Gods heart to share this authority with His people.(Gen. 1:26, Luke 12:32)

The level of of certainty in this Kingdom is based upon the pleasure of the Father, not on the confidence of man.  As we increase in revelation of this place in His government we in turn increase in the authority we operate in.  Our position in His kingdom is determined by our relationship with Christ. (Eph. 2:4-6)  In other words, when we abide in Christ, we are presently seated in His authority.   It is impossible to grasp the magnitude of what is now available to us.

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places

Eph. 1:17-20

This revelation can not come by natural reasoning.  It can only come through supernatural revelation.  It can only come by the Holy Spirit.  These resources of truth are only available by the Holy Spirit, this means our natural man cannot understand them.

In 1 Cor. 2:12 Paul goes to say ” Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”  There are then two sources of knowledge.  The first is “the spirit of this world.”  This reality gives us views of our earthly citizenship, with all of its rights and responsibilities.  But “the spirit which is of God” reveals unto us the kingdom of Christ.  This brings with it our rightful standing before God.  It also brings all the rights and responsibilities of heaven itself.  This gives us identity of our citizenship in heavenly places which can only come by the Holy Spirit Himself.

This means that if, at times, we find ourselves distant from the throne of God, the reason is simple: we have not received the revelation that the Holy Spirit, through His Word, makes freely available to us.  If we do not have this revelation, we can neither understand nor enjoy the benefits of this heavenly citizenship.  What this in turn does is dulls us down to were we choose to toil as slaves through our earthly citizenship, instead of reigning through our heavenly citizenship.

Since it is in the heart of God from before the foundation of the world to have a people formed in His image to rule and reign with Him on earth then let us rest in this kingly calling.  For we are truly citizens of heaven, seated with Him (now) in heavenly places.

Prayer:

Father, reveal to me, by Your Spirit, what my citizenship looks like.  Enlighten my eyes, that I may see what You have freely given to me, and give me the strength to walk as Your king on the earth.  To say what You say and to pray as You pray.  Continue to keep me in the center of this heavenly kingdom and give me Your wisdom in all of it’s rights and responsibilities.  In the name of the only Son of the Living God, Jesus Christ.  Amen

We wanted to share some of the testimonies from Rain 2011.  These are taken primarily from the healing room, which we had going during the Saturday of the conference.  Our healing rooms are open every Saturday night from 6-8pm.  Bring anyone you know with a physical ailment and we will see them healed.

A lady with torn tendons in her ankle which was encased with a surgical boot. She  was waiting for surgery..She received prayed and could move her foot up and down.that was in the afternoon. The same night she attended  the conference walking normally without her surgical boot. Complete healing.

A boy with short sightedness in his eyes was prayed for. His family all had eyesight problems. The generational curse was broken and the boy could see clearer, brighter and could read the numbers on a combination lock.

A young boy with flat feet was prayed for, his toes were at angles. During prayer, arches were created in his feet and his toes straightened.

A 3 month old baby had been unable to digest milk since birth, all her brothers and sisters had the same problem. She was prayed for and the generational curse was broken and she  was able to drink a  full bottle of milk immediately.

A teenage girl with scoliosis on her right shoulder blade was prayed for.  During prayer the bone protrusion disappeared by 70%.

A father and daughter healing: The daughter had a fever, sore throat and and a cold for 2 days. After prayer she was healed completely.  Her father had asthma and COPD and was breathing with the help of a inhaler. After prayer he was able to breath clearly and for the first time in 50 years ,he could breath through his nose.

Two ladies with leg and ankle problems had their legs readjust during prayer and were healed.

A lady with enlarged lympathetics in her arms had her lymph nodes become sifter and pain reduced by 90%.

A lady with a condition of lack of sleep and leg cramps felt energized, revived joyful and peaceful after prayer.

A lady with back, leg and ankle problems felt like she had a bone spur. During prayer her legs visibly readjusted and pain left her.

A lady was healed after 12 months of pain in her left ankle.

We also heard of two marriages which were beginning to be restored from the conference.  The Saturday morning session Graeme Walsh spoke much on unforgiveness.  Two women who were in attendance were struck at how this was affecting their marriages.  They made a decision to not leave their spouse and continue working at restoration in the marriage!

Another women had lost a daughter to a drug overdose.  She had been walking in guilt, shame, and condemnation for years.  At Rain the Lord spoke to her that He loved her and did not harbor any feelings of anger over her because of her daughters death.  She received His loving forgiveness and she is now walking lighter!

Zeal for the Fathers House

Posted by: Morgan Mitchell

John 2:16,17

And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”  Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten me up.”

It is so interesting that in the other three gospels the house is called a house of prayer, but in John’s gospel it is described as the Father’s House.  I believe it is because John had such a close relationship with Jesus that he knew the ultimate purpose for the House.  That purpose was to know the Father.  There is little one can do to seperate prayer and intimacy with the Father.  They are in fact the same train running down the same set of tracks.  Perhaps the only difference is that they are two different cars.  The engine of course is our relationship with the Father.

Jesus lays out multiple times in the gospel of John why He came.  The reason He came was to restore a relationship with the Father.  When that relationship gets broken in anyway, it affects our entire life.  The reason the house of prayer is so important is because it is really the Father’s House.  Jesus knew that this was the key to living by the Spirit.  He was doing more than clearing a temple, He was establishing the foundation for all spiritual living; to abide in the Father’s House.

Be watching over the next couple days as I will be posting some of the fruit of the Father.  The rain conference went so well it is hard to put into words.  I will be posting many of the testimonies which came from being in the Fathers house over teh course of those two days.

Prayer: “Father, I come before you by the blood of Your Son.  Not of my own works but by His only.  I ask You to continue to keep me in the center of Your heart, dwelling in Your House.  Show me Your faithfulness as  my Father, and continue to reveal the truth of me being Your child.  I thank you for adopting me into Your family a child forever.  May my life reflect the love You have for me.”

“Come, let us return to the LORD.”

Posted by: Morgan Mitchell

Hosea 6 tells us what God’s discipline is intended for.  The writer of Hebrews states the same when he says “He disciplines those He loves.”

God’s discipline is always about love and always about leading us closer to His heart.  Jesus is after one thing, our hearts.

When we drift from Gods best in our lives He will use discipline.  We as a nation and church have drifted from God’s best. But thanks be to Him who is able to save us and make us complete on that day; for His discipline is nothing like ours.  It is full of compassion and grace, love and mercy.  So, what is our response to be when Gods discipline comes upon us.

In Hosea God is laying out what is to be our part in the time of discipline… Come, return to ME!

This July 29 & 30 we are asking all to come and return to the LORD with us at GTHOP during RAIN 2011.  God’s eyes are roaming throughout the earth seeking after a heart whose is completely His.  Let us answer His cry for us by unifying and seeking HIM.  If we press on to know Him then He will sure come like the rains!!

Come, let US RETURN TO THE LORD!!!

Building up the House of Prayer

Posted by: Morgan Mitchell

Act 15 talks about God rebuilding the Tabernacle of David. We are so pleased to announce that God is building a Tabernacle right here in Traverse City.

In 2009 the Lord gathered many of us across our city to pray for families, teens, leaders, and our government. We have seen many salvation’s, emotional and physical healing’s. Much prayer has gone into establishing a Grand Traverse House of Prayer permanent location. We have determined a prime location, and have made an offer.

If everyone reading this sows just $100 seed, we will reach our goal and a citywide, night and day prayer center will be established. This is an eternal opportunity to see God’s people come together everyday to worship Him and seek His purposes.

Please join us in our endeavor and prayerfully consider partnering with us. Donations can be made online or made out to GTHOP, P.O. Box 5051, Traverse City, MI 49696-5051.

Ministry to the Lord & Priors Coming to GTHOP

Posted by: Morgan Mitchell

Ps. 103:2   “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”

The psalmist cries out to the Lord that he will choose to bless the Lord.  He chooses to offer up to God a proper sacrifice.  It is a sacrifice of joy and thanksgiving.

God has never needed anything from us.  Let’s face it, He is God, He has no need.  He is completely outside of needing anything.  The whole reason He created us was for relationship.  He is so full of love that He created us out of a longing to give His affections to us.  What moves Him is when we love Him back.  He does not need it, but that does not mean it is meaningless to Him.  He is moved when we choose to worship Him.

The worship He desires is not blood, it is not contrived; it is a pure heart of devotion to Him.  It is a transparent relationship.  It is a knowing.

One of the quickest and deepest ways we can line up our souls with our spirits is to remeber who He is.

Lord, as the psalmist cried out, so do we.  We remember all of Your goodness.  We remember that all you do is good.  You are a good Father to us.  You have never left us alone and You will never give up on us.  We choose to turn our hearts to You even now.  It is Your kindness which changes us.  We choose to bless You and we remember Your love towards us that even while we were in sin You chased us down.  We love you Lord.   Amen.

To close we would like to let everyone know about another blessing coming to our house of prayer.  The prior family from IHOP is coming to minister to Jesus with us.  Ashely, Alyson, and the rest of the clan are coming.  Ashley leads on the night watch at IHOP-KC.  The rest of the family are incredible musicians and more importantly, lovers of God!  We would love to see you come and worship Jesus with us.  They will be playing from 4-6pm this Saturday!
